On Saturday, August 24, 2019, a delegation representing the Armenian National Committee of Canada met with Canada’s Minister of Tourism, Official Languages and La Francophonie, the Honourable Mélanie Joly.
Ahead of the Minister’s visit to the annual “Sourp Hagop Kermesse”, an hour-long meeting took place at the Armenian Community Centre of Montréal, where ANCC representatives presented the Minister with this year’s “Policy Priorities” package. Productive discussions took place related to ANCC’s upcoming nationwide initiatives, relations with other communities, the bilateral relations between Canada and Armenia and other issues important to the Armenian-Canadian community.
Speaking highly about the important contributions made by Armenian-Canadian community, Minister Joly reiterated the government’s commitment to further deepen the ties between Canada and Armenia, a top priority for the ANCC.
Furthermore, the two sides agreed to continue their cooperation and dialogue on the issues discussed and other matters concerning the Armenian-Canadian community.
