Recent reports in Canadian media suggest that the Canadian government is planning on lifting its long-standing arms embargo on Turkey as an ill-conceived gesture in exchange for Turkey’s approval of Sweden’s ascension to NATO. Tell Minister Joly that as Turkey and Azerbaijan continue to threaten Armenia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, it is a must for Canada to prioritize peace and human rights over expedient political considerations by maintaining the arms embargo on Turkey and enforcing a comprehensive ban on both Turkey and Azerbaijan
